So… GPT-5 is here! 🎉 And wow! It now connects with Gmail, Google Calendar, and even does live coding so you can build and debug on the spot.

It also comes with other new and great features!

But what happens with GPTs you’ve built or have from before GPT-5?​
Don’t worry !They still work exactly as before, only better. They’ll stay on the model they were created with and will be automatically upgraded to GPT-5 in about 60 days, unless you (or the creator) update them sooner. After the upgrade, they’ll run on the best model the person using it can access:

• Free plan → GPT-5-mini
• Plus plan → full GPT-5
• Pro plan → GPT-5 Pro for the deepest reasoning and longest context

Your GPT’s instructions and files are stored separately from the model, so nothing gets lost. The way you create GPTs hasn’t changed, so any training you’ve done is still valid, you’ll only need to tweak them if you want to add GPT-5’s new perks like Agents, 1M-token memory, or richer multimodal features (meaning it can understand and work with images, audio, and even video more naturally, yes, you can upload a fridge photo and get meal ideas!).

Fortunately, the Plus version is still just $20/month, and this is the version that lets you create GPTs. The Pro plan jumped to $200/month, so if you’ve been thinking about getting Plus, now might be a good time.
